There are many examples of fabulous sculpture in The Forbidden City. Joanne and I were both imressed by the sense of balance that is present in traditional Chinese landscaping and design. If there are three statues on one side of an entranceway, there must be three matching statues on the other side. This tradition of balance is still very visible throughout China.
