Some parts of this section of The Great Wall are in disrepair. One has to use caution in these areas. It would not be a good idea to attempt this hike in either wet conditions or, as almost happened to us, after dark. As you can see in the middle picture there are a few places where it is necessary to hike along a trail beside the wall.
