On January 29th, Joanne and I took the train from Shanghai to Beijing. Living in Fujian Province with its gorgeous mountain scenery, I assumed the train would be a great way to see a variety of landscapes. The area between Shanghai and Beijing is amazingly flat, however. It is very similar to Canada's Prairie Provinces. One small range of hills was all that we saw along the way.
For our first day in Beijing, we decided to visit The Forbidden City. What an amazing place!! Here a some of the photos I took.
