Evidently this cluster of tulou was mistaken as nulear missile launching silos by the United States during the 1960s. If this story is true, it must have been rather embarassing for the Americans to find out that many of these structures are well over 600 years old!!

maybe they were 600 year old missile silos! I watched a program on the Discovery channel about the weaponry of ancient China and they had working flame throwers that projected flaming gasoline/oil 60 feet 300 years BC. You never know!!
